A recognized benchmark is ≤2 mm deviation under a 2 m straightedge and ≤3 mm under 3 m. Verify and adopt project-specific tolerances.

Follow the adhesive manufacturer’s TDS. This method specifies a combed application to the primed substrate using a 4–6 mm V-notch, with vertical ribbons for venting.

Safety film is used when not factory-laminated or where required to achieve EN 12600/ANSI Z97.1 classification. Verify with the designer and code authority.

Provide uniform 2–3 mm joints (±0.5 mm) to accommodate thermal movement and alignment with sealant.

Use BS EN 1036 visual inspection at ~1 m perpendicular view and a reflected line/grid method. Lines should appear straight without local ripples (benchmark ≤2 mm over 2 m).
