The checklist
Event identification
- Affected wall/segment and layer/elevation are positively identified.
- Stop time, reason for interruption and proposed restart time have been recorded.
Process status
- Actual downtime and material age have been checked against the qualified restart/open-time limits.
- Material, pump, nozzle and printing-system condition are suitable for the approved restart process.
Interface condition
- Exposed receiving-layer/interface condition is assessed for drying, contamination, damage or separation.
- Required interface cleaning or preparation follows the approved restart procedure.
- Any prescribed bonding treatment or replacement/repair action has the required technical authorization.
Restart controls
- Restart print file, toolpath position and nozzle datum/height are verified before extrusion resumes.
- Required reinforcement, embedded items and temporary stability measures remain acceptable after the stop.
Release and evidence
- Restart measurements, interface photographs and corrective actions are recorded against the event.
- Where the interruption exceeds qualified limits, the required designer/engineer technical disposition has been obtained.
- Applicable ITP hold/witness release has been recorded before restarting the affected work.

At a glance
- For a specific printer stoppage and planned restart, not routine continuous printing.
- Check interruption history, material window, receiving interface, approved preparation and release.
- A restart outside the qualified procedure requires documented engineering assessment/authorization.
